I'm throwing in the towel.
I'm not going to let myself be knocked down over and over again.
Giving up seems like the only logical option.
But don't you dare expect me to leave my friends.
You better expect that I'll still be by their sides.
Holding their hands instead of yours.
And I'll do it, smiling, holding back the tears you form.
Because you can have fun and so can I.
I'm not afraid of you anymore.
I'm standing on my own two feet now and I don't need your help.

You aren't as good of a person as I thought you were.
I changed for you; not that I regret it.
Because today, I'm a stronger person than I was a year ago.

Because of you, I've found my truest friends.

And for once, I'm enjoying my life.
